We Need Hay For The Horses

By SAHA

The horses need your urgent help!

Our paddocks have pretty much turned to dust, the ongoing drought has deeply effected everyone in rural areas and sadly the price of hay this winter is tipped to be even worse than last year due to the severe lack of rain! We NEED to stock the hay shed before the price rise so that we can continue with smaller regular orders of hay IF it is available in the lead up to winter.

We use 64 bales a week at the sanctuary, that’s 256 bales a month and at the moment we are able to get bales of Lucerne for between $14.50-$16 but that will dramatically increase in the near future- we need to act now!

Roughage (hay or grazing) is imperative for a horses digestive health, processed feeds stay in the horses stomach for longer and hay is necessary to keep their digestive system active and healthy. We have no grass left in the paddocks so we need your help to beat the price hike and stock the hay shed!

Our last large hay fundraiser was hugely successful thanks to your amazing support and we were able to stock the shed right up, can we please ask you to help the horses once again?

We need to raise $11,520 to keep the shed stocked, can we do it?

Love what you guys do. Hope this helps. I already give weekly but realise the drought situation and now the floods have made feeding so difficult.
