On the 18th March I put out an urgent pledge for donations to save the charity. You listened, and donated an incredible amount of money, and the committee were able to wipe the slate clean, and pay out every single account owing on our rescue horses. We all thank you so much for that. Since then, we have tried to get people to sign up to monthly donations which is the only way we can continuously maintain the high cost of taking care of the large amount of horses we have. Unfortunately we have not had enough responses to our campaign for monthly donations.
Again this month we have adopted out more horses, and plan to continue to downsize, but this takes time. In the 8 weeks since our last big fundraiser, we have accrued many more bills - feed, vet, farrier, chiro, training etc. Downsizing will help us with this, and so will regular monthly sign ups, but for now, I need to launch a fundraiser to get our accounts back to a zero balance.
In a perfect world, we would have enough monthly donations to be able to pay our bills as soon as they come in, but this is hard while we are building regular donations. We would rather not have to do these big call outs for large fundraisers when we fall behind, and I believe we will get to that goal one day of having enough monthly donations to sustain the charity.
So again, I ask you to dig deep, and help us raise enough money to pay out all bills, and urgently get our buggy fixed with a new motor, as the girls are now carrying feed buckets out to feed all the horses. This is a huge, strenuous effort, and just carrying bales of hay down to all the paddocks is back breaking. Our aim is to raise $25,000 to be able to pay out all accounts and get the farm vehicles fixed.
If we go over that amount it would be amazing to set us up for the next month. I would also like to add, that if any businesses can donate $200 or more, we will put up a thank you on our page, with a link to your business in front of 216,000 people. (great advertising for your business.....great help to our horses)
